Before joining CLES, Fran’s work spanned local government, civil society and academia. She has developed and delivered local government policy and collaborated on national projects to generate new approaches to place leadership, equality and socially-just devolution. As Associate Director Fran brings expertise in coproduction, community activism and collaboration to CLES’s work on democratising local economies and reshaping public services.
Fran joined the organisation in March 2018. Commenting on her new role, she said:
‘After a decade of working in local government I’m excited to be part of the progressive change championed by CLES. I’m looking forward to supporting people and places across the UK and Europe, who are pioneering progressive, innovative economic and public policy. CLES is unique in recognising these bright spots and working alongside them to amplify, accelerate and expand these changes – turning isolated, incremental shifts into fundamental change.’
