Joe is a Researcher at CLES, having previously worked for The Democracy Collaborative and Statistics Denmark, the Danish equivalent of the ONS. Joe delivers research, membership, policy and consultancy work at CLES, and has particular interests in political economy, strategy, community wealth building and alternative models of ownership.
Joe joined the organisation in September 2019. Here’s what he said when we asked him, ‘why did you choose CLES?’.
“At a time of intersecting political, economic, and environmental crises, CLES is on the front lines: feeding practice into policy, and policy into practice – working on the ground and in the interstices to scale-up more democratic, egalitarian, and socially just models of local economic development. It’s a privilege to be pushing this agenda alongside committed colleagues, at an organisation that practices what it preaches when it comes to good working conditions.”
