Towards new local economic development

This one day training course will look at how the function of local economic development is changing at the local authority level. It will provide an overview of the way in which we have historically undertaken economic development, framed within a number of key concepts including competitive advantage and tackling market failure. It will update participants on the contemporary policy agenda including lively debate around growth and localism. The day will also cover the future roles and activities of local economic development departments and how they apply to different places, including leading thinking around the role of procurement and the Work Programme.

- Contemporary Local Economic Development issues and policy
Course fee
£200 plus VAT: £105 plus VAT for charity, voluntary sector organisations.
