Housing: the remaining chip left on the old regeneration block?

New Start/CLES think time

New Start/CLES think time sessions provide an enjoyable and interesting opportunity for debate, discussion and new ideas. Facilitated by a CLES member of staff, they are small scale to encourage active participation and offer a chance to think about the future and about the lessons from the past.

If you’re interested in sponsoring this or any other think time session contact Austin or Clare or call Laura on 0161 236 7036.

This session

In a climate of cutbacks, the ability of local authorities to shape their localities has – to an extent – been curtailed. Added to that, the capacity of voluntary and community organisations has also been reduced substantially. To what extent can housing associations fill the void?  Housing associations have, over the last decade, taken on a more prominent role in placemaking.  This session explores how they can develop and grow their role.
