Social Value in Procurement: a practical guide to living social value
CLES and One Manchester recently hosted an event which brought together organisations from across Greater Manchester to present a practical guide to living social.
The event comes on the back of social value procurement work undertaken by CLES for One Manchester. This work has generated a baseline position around social value for the Manchester based housing provider and made action focussed recommendations to ensure that social value is maximised. CLES Chief Executive Neil McInroy set the context for the event with examples of CLES’ work around Community Wealth Building in Preston and the changes that have taken place in Manchester City Council’s procurement practices over the last ten years.
There were also contributions from suppliers to One Manchester, who shared their approaches to living social value, including Frank Mondino from Keepmoat and Simon Howarth from WRPS
