CLES in conversation with…Laura Roth
Feminising local economies
book your place →
The field of progressive local economics exists within a context of innovation in approach that is underpinned by social and environmental justice. This new series of webinars from CLES is designed to explore the intersections between our work on community wealth building (and other practically rooted approaches) and the work of other thinkers in the field.
For our second of three conversations, we will be joined by Laura Roth – activist/scholar and member of the International Group of Barcelona en Comú – to consider the relationship between the feminisation of politics and community wealth building.
Laura is the coordinator of the Participation Committee and a member of the International Group of Barcelona en Comú, where she helps to build an international municipalist network. Laura also works at the International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (supported by the United Cities and Local Governments network and Barcelona City Council), and as a professor at Pompeu Fabra University where she focuses on the connections between democracy and the law. She also coordinates the Facilitation Group at FundAction, a new participatory fund making grants for social transformation.
This event will take place online, is free of charge and joining instructions will be sent in the week commencing each session.
