B51: Review of sub-national economic development and regeneration: The BIG ISSUES
by
After several weeks of anticipation, proposed release dates and speculation as to its contents, the Review of Sub-National Economic Development and Regeneration (the Review) was published on 17th July 2007.
For CLES, the document is a more than useful addition to the continued policy debate around devolution of power to regional and local bodies and decision makers. The purpose of this bulletin is therefore to follow four key policy messages and assess the key actions of the Review in relation to these issues. As a pre-cursor to this, the bulletin looks at why it is deemed necessary in the UK for a renewed emphasis on local, sub-regional and regional approaches to economic development and regeneration.
