John has significant experience working in political and social policy environments. Prior to joining CLES, John’s work spanned politics and civic society, with extensive local government experience, where he championed innovation and radical change toward solutions which are value-led, empathic and responsive to peoples’ real lived experiences.
John joined the organisation in February 2020. Commenting on his new role, he said:
“I’ve admired CLES’s work for many years. I’m passionate about social justice, fairness and tackling inequality. CLES are at the forefront of the progressive economics agenda, leading on not just the theory, but the practice, of how to reshape local economies for the benefit of everyone. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help lead this work with such committed and inspirational colleagues.”
