Final Report of the Raynsford Review

CLES Associate Director Stuart Macdonald was at the launch of the Final Report of the Raynsford Review of Planning on Tuesday 20th November 2018 in the House of Lords.

Hosted by Lord Kerslake, with presentations from the respected former planning minister Rt Hon Nick Raynsford and Dr Hugh Ellis, Chief Executive of the TCPA, the Review set out a series of recommendations and detailed proposals for the future of the planning system in England. Its principal recommendation to develop a new legal duty to deliver sustainable development in England has the potential to make planning more people focused and places more socially and environmentally resilient.

Stuart said:

“CLES welcome the extensive set of recommendations for remaking the English planning system and hope that an excellent piece of legislation can be crafted with cross-party support to make sure the review’s intent is realised for the benefit of people and place in England.”
