Local Procurement: making the most of small businesses

by
RESEARCH
23rd July 2012.

This report presents the findings of innovative research undertaken by the Federation of Small Businesses exploring the relationship between local authority procurement and small business. It has particularly sought to understand levels of spend by local authorities with small business through the procurement process, the barriers small business face in accessing procurement opportunity, and the initiatives local government have in place to respond to those barriers. CLES has helped to inform the research through undertaking a survey of every local authority procurement team in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
