Making the most of public sector spend: Procurement as local economic activism

This briefing, drawing upon the findings from CLES’ recent research activities, seeks to:

1. outline how local authorities and partners, can measure and understand the local economic, social and environmental impacts of sustainable procurement spending;
2. assess what more economic development departments can do within legal constraints to enable community benefit.
