Centre for Local Economic Strategies appoints new Board Member
CLES, the UK’s leading, independent think and do tank realising progressive economics for people and place, has announced the appointment of Andy Donald to its Board of Trustees.
Andy has spent 25 years working across local government in a range of settings to promote local economic growth, neighbourhood regeneration and large-scale redevelopment. He is currently the Chief Executive of the London Borough of Redbridge, in east London, where he is seeking to drive excellence and re-invent the relationship between the Council and the community within the challenges of austerity. Andy is the lead Chief Executive in London for Housing and Regeneration.
Commenting on his appointment, Andy said:
“I joined the CLES Board in order to explore more closely models of linking communities to economies. As a practitioner, who has worked for the vast majority of my career in London, I am particularly keen to understand how community wealth building models can be applied and achieved within the complexities of large urban areas.”

Andy joins a Board of ten Trustees for CLES chaired by Gill Steward.
