The Covid-19 pandemic has brought about irreversible structural and societal change for our communities and local economies. The current public health crisis has laid bare the fragilities of our economy and society. As we move forward greater economic, social and climate crises will come and there is great uncertainty. However, we can be sure of one thing: an economic development approach based on past ideas and practices will not provide a road map for the task ahead.
CLES has developed approaches for local, regional and national governments and the organisations that work with them. This builds on our experience of thinking and doing over three decades.
