About the workshop

In this workshop you will be taken through the five pillars of community wealth building, what they are, what they mean in practice and what it looks like when action is taken on each pillar in a place. The session will invite participants to explore community wealth building in the Scottish context and evaluate its key role in developing a wellbeing economy. By the end of the workshop you will have had a comprehensive introduction to community wealth building theory, practice and its application in Scotland.

Who’s it for?

The introductory workshop is for anyone who wants to develop their approach to community wealth building, particularly as it relates to the forthcoming Community Wealth Building Bill in Scotland.

We particularly encourage elected representatives, policy makers, and members of co-operatives, social enterprises, and the voluntary and community sector to attend. If you are attending on behalf of a large institution or a client group, or you would like to book on multiple delegates to attend, we would recommend contacting us in advance of booking to determine whether a bespoke training session may be more valuable for your organisation.

Facilitators

The workshop will be led by the following CLES team members, who bring first hand knowledge and experience of developing and implementing community wealth building strategies across the UK:

Victoria Bettany, Senior Researcher
Charlie Murphy, Researcher
