Caroline Wilson is Director of Inclusive Economy at the London Borough of Islington, where she leads a pioneering inclusive economy programme that places social justice at the heart of local decision making. Her work focusses on using the power of the local state to drive inclusion through progressive procurement, social value leasing, inclusive innovation and responsible business practices.
Previously at Belfast City Council, Caroline played a key role in peace building, brokering complex political and community agreements on major regeneration programmes and securing over £150 million of investment for local neighbourhoods. She brings deep expertise in navigating complex systems, shifting organisational practice and supporting civic leadership, particularly in post conflict contexts.
Alongside her executive role, Caroline contributes to a range of policy and practice networks, including chairing the place based Group of the Mayor of London’s Anchor Institutions’ Network, and is an RSA Fellow.
