Evelyn Henderson-Child

Senior Researcher

Evelyn is a Senior Researcher at CLES, based in Edinburgh, and contributes to projects across the UK. Her areas of specialism include:

  • Community-led development
  • Ecological economics
  • Workshop facilitation
  • Qualitative and quantitative research methods

Evelyn’s recent work has included conducting spend analysis for Stoke-on-Trent City Council and its anchor partners, as well as mapping the social economy sector across York and North Yorkshire.

She has deep experience of working with community groups, social enterprises and charities across the UK and internationally, supporting their sustainability and evidencing the critical role of the community sector in local economic development. Her work has included supporting the development and scaling of community-led approaches to financial inclusion, community asset development and natural resource management.

Prior to joining CLES, Evelyn led a community wealth building initiative in north Edinburgh, working with community anchor organisations to assess the local impact of their supply chains and to develop collaborative approaches to public procurement.

Evelyn holds a Master’s degree in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
