Jasmine Barry

Q-Step Data Fellowship Intern
Jamine has joined CLES for a paid Q-Step internship over the summer of 2025. She is currently studying for an undergraudate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, having completed her second year. Jasmine brings not only a passion for CLES’s mission but also a strong interest in intersectional inequalities on a local level, including gender and ethnicity, and sustainable methods of production.

Here’s what Jasmine said when we asked her to tell us about her background and what drew her to CLES:

“I’m really pleased to be working at CLES, where the progressive, values-led approach to building inclusive and democratic local economies strongly aligns with my own. I’m enjoying the opportunity to generate data-driven insights, explore diverse policy ideas, and see how research can shape both theory and good practice.

“CLES’s pivotal role in advancing Community Wealth Building made it especially exciting to dive straight into the CWB Summit in my first week. I’m already learning so much from a team deeply committed to place-based change, whilst developing my research skills in the process.

“With a strong interest in economic justice, policy, and community empowerment, I was drawn to CLES’s work challenging traditional economic models. Being part of this inspiring environment has confirmed my ambition to pursue a career focused on social impact and systemic change.”
