Joe Dromey is general secretary of the Fabian Society, a left-leaning membership organisation and think tank.
Joe is passionate about good work, inclusive growth, localism and tackling inequality.
His first role was as an employment advisor in Southwark, where he helped over 100 long-term unemployed people into work.
Joe has almost a decade of experience of working on employment and skills policy in leading think tanks, including IPPR and Learning and Work Institute where he was Deputy Director.
Joe has extensive experience in local government. He served as a Councillor and cabinet member in a London borough for seven years, and then led Central London Forward – a partnership of central London boroughs – for four years. During his time, the organisation supported over 10,000 Londoners into work.
