Naila is a dynamic leader dedicated to advancing social mobility across Scotland. As an accomplished stakeholder manager with extensive experience in corporate responsibility, she strives to generate positive economic outcomes for both society and the environment.

Her career began in volunteer management at the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), where she led a Glasgow project focussed on broadening participation and leveraging new media to reach disadvantaged young people. After working for a period in Whitehall within the UK Civil Service, Naila returned to Scotland to become Public Affairs Manager at RSPB. There, she continued efforts to include underrepresented groups in nature conservation, expanded her responsibilities to developing communications strategies, and enhanced visitor experiences across RSPB estates.

Following success in the charity and public sectors, Naila transitioned into the private sector securing a role at SSE as Community Action Manager. Naila now serves as Head of Social Impact at Balfour Beatty in Scotland. Here, she maintains her drive to promote diversity, inclusion, and opportunity for underrepresented communities. Throughout her professional journey, Naila has remained passionate about empowering young people and fostering lasting change through education, leadership, and advocacy.

In addition to her current role, Naila is a committee member of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility (ICRS) Scotland Hub and is pursuing a part-time MSc at Edinburgh Futures Institute, focussing on future infrastructure, climate change, and sustainability.
