Tracy Bingham is deputy chief executive and executive director for resources and transformation at South Derbyshire District Council. From the East Midlands, she returned to the region after studying philosophy, politics and economics to build a career in local government spanning housing, finance, transformation and executive leadership.
Beginning her career in council housing before qualifying as an accountant, Tracy brings a whole-system perspective to public service, recognising that strong local economies depend on how people, places, organisations and resources connect. She has led major transformation and regeneration programmes, including investment in a new leisure centre that brings together health improvement, regeneration and economic opportunity, and is currently helping shape local government reorganisation across Derbyshire.
Alongside her executive role, Tracy is vice chair and finance lead of Active Together and mentor to current and aspiring chief financial officers. She contributes regularly to national discussions on local government finance and reform and believes that effective public leadership creates the conditions for inclusive, resilient local economies.
