This report sets out the findings of the York and North Yorkshire Community Wealth Building Commission, the first mayoral commission of its kind in England, which was supported by CLES.
It offers a practical roadmap for tackling inequality, strengthening local economies and ensuring wealth generated in the region is retained and shared more fairly. Drawing on evidence, local expertise and successful approaches from across the UK, the report makes the case for community wealth building as the foundation of a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable future for York and North Yorkshire.
