CLES Chief Executive at Manchester City Council work and skills conference

CLES Chief Executive Neil McInroy delivered a talk at Manchester City Council’s work and skills conference on January 16th.

The theme of this year’s inaugural conference was Tackling Inequalities, and the day focused on six key areas in relation to Manchester’s employment and skills offer: Universal Credit, apprenticeships, work and health, social value, growth sectors, and Our Manchester in practice.

Neil said “Ensuring great skills is about collaboration. We need to ensure that the provision of skills training and funding are matched up with individuals and business needs. To do this, a local skills approach is key.”
